Planning your triathlon time
A triathlon finish time is the sum of three very different disciplines — swim, bike, and run — plus the two transitions between them. Estimating each segment separately, using your own realistic training paces, gives a far more useful target than a single generic number.
How this calculator works
Choose your race distance (Sprint, Olympic, Half, or Full), then enter your own swim pace per 100m, average bike speed, and run pace per kilometer, along with how long you expect each transition to take. The calculator applies the official distance for each leg of your chosen race and adds up swim time, bike time, run time, and both transitions to estimate your total finish time.
- Sprint: 750m swim / 20km bike / 5km run
- Olympic: 1.5km swim / 40km bike / 10km run
- Half (70.3): 1.9km swim / 90km bike / 21.1km run
- Full (140.6): 3.8km swim / 180km bike / 42.2km run
Race-day conditions (open water currents, drafting rules, hills, and fatigue) all affect real results, so treat this as a training planning estimate rather than a guaranteed finish time.
