How height percentile is estimated
Adult height in a population roughly follows a bell-shaped (normal) distribution around an average value. This calculator uses published average height and standard deviation figures for adult men and women in a few regions, then estimates where your height falls using a standard statistical approximation of that distribution.
How to read your result
A percentile of 70 means you are taller than roughly 70% of people in the comparison group of the same sex. Choose the comparison group (United States, United Kingdom, or a rough global average) and sex that best matches what you want to compare against, then enter your height.
