⚖️ BMI Weight Loss Calculator
See how much weight you’d need to lose to reach a target BMI, based on your current height and weight.
How this calculator works
This tool rearranges the standard BMI formula to work backwards: instead of finding your BMI from your weight, it finds the weight that would produce a chosen target BMI at your current height, then shows the difference between that and your current weight.
The math
BMI equals weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared, so target weight equals target BMI × height in meters squared. The default target of 24.9 is the top of the standard “normal weight” range, but you can enter any goal BMI.
Note: a healthy weight depends on more than BMI alone — muscle mass, frame size, and overall health all matter. This calculator is for general planning and educational purposes only and is not medical advice; talk to a healthcare provider before starting a weight-loss plan.
