⚖️ BMI Prime Calculator
Calculate your BMI Prime, a simple ratio that shows how your body mass index compares to the upper healthy-weight threshold.
What is BMI Prime?
BMI Prime is a simplified version of the standard Body Mass Index (BMI). It expresses your BMI as a ratio to the upper boundary of the healthy weight range, which is defined as a BMI of 25. A BMI Prime of 1.0 means your BMI is exactly 25.
How this calculator works
The calculator first computes your standard BMI using weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared (BMI = weight ÷ height²). It then divides that BMI by 25 to produce BMI Prime. A value below 1.0 generally corresponds to a normal or underweight BMI, while a value at or above 1.0 corresponds to overweight or obese BMI categories.
Because BMI Prime is dimensionless, it makes it easy to see at a glance, by what percentage a person’s mass differs from the upper limit of the healthy range, without needing to remember exact BMI cutoffs.
BMI and BMI Prime are general screening tools and do not account for muscle mass, bone density, age, or sex. They are not a diagnosis. For personalized health guidance, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
