Estimated Average Glucose Calculator

Convert an HbA1c percentage into an estimated average glucose (eAG) reading, the way many lab reports display it alongside your A1C result.

%

What is eAG

Estimated Average Glucose (eAG) translates an HbA1c lab result — which reflects average blood sugar over roughly the prior two to three months — into a number expressed in the same units as a daily glucose meter reading, making it easier to relate to day-to-day monitoring.

The formula used

This calculator uses the standard formula derived from the ADAG (A1c-Derived Average Glucose) study: eAG (mg/dL) = 28.7 × A1C − 46.7. The mg/dL value is also converted to mmol/L for regions that use that unit.

This tool is for general educational and planning purposes only. Always interpret HbA1c and glucose results together with a qualified healthcare professional, since individual factors can affect the relationship between the two.
