🚴 Calories Burned Biking Calculator
Estimate how many calories you burn biking based on your weight, riding speed, and how long you ride.
How calories burned while biking are estimated
This calculator uses MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values, a standard way exercise scientists measure the energy cost of physical activities. Each cycling intensity level corresponds to a published MET value based on approximate speed and effort.
The formula
Calories burned are estimated as MET x body weight (kg) x duration (hours). Faster, more vigorous riding has a higher MET value and burns more calories per minute than a leisurely ride at the same body weight.
This is an estimate for general fitness planning. Actual calorie burn varies with terrain, wind, bike type, fitness level, and individual metabolism, and this tool does not replace guidance from a qualified professional.
