🚴 Bike Pace Calculator
Calculate your average cycling speed and per-kilometer or per-mile pace from your ride’s distance and total time.
What This Calculator Does
This tool converts your ride’s total distance and elapsed time into an average speed and pace, the same numbers cyclists use to track fitness progress and plan race or event pacing.
The Formula
Average Speed (km/h) = Distance (km) / Time (hours). Pace, the inverse measure often preferred by endurance athletes, is calculated as Pace (min/km) = 60 / Average Speed (km/h). The calculator also converts these into miles per hour and minutes per mile for riders who prefer imperial units.
Using This For Training
Average pace over a full ride smooths out variations from hills, wind, and stops, so it is best used to track overall trends over time rather than to judge performance on any single short segment. This tool is for general fitness and training planning purposes.
