🏃 Running Calorie Calculator
Enter your weight, running speed, and duration to estimate the calories you’ll burn.
What this calculator does
The Running Calorie Calculator estimates how many calories you burn during a run based on your body weight, running speed, and how long you run.
How the calculation works
The tool uses the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) metabolic equation for running to estimate oxygen consumption (VO2) from speed on flat ground: VO2 = 0.2 x speed (m/min) + 3.5. Dividing VO2 by 3.5 gives the MET (metabolic equivalent) value for that pace. Calories per minute are then found using the standard formula kcal/min = MET x 3.5 x weight (kg) / 200, which is multiplied by your duration to get total calories burned.
This is an estimate for general fitness planning purposes. Actual calorie burn varies with terrain, incline, fitness level, running economy, and environmental conditions, and this tool does not substitute for a coach’s or clinician’s guidance.
