What this calculator finds
This calculator finds the volume of a pyramid with a rectangular base — the space enclosed between the flat base and the apex point above it.
The formula
Volume is V = (1/3) × Base Area × height, where the base area for a rectangular base is length × width. The one-third factor holds true for any pyramid or cone shape, regardless of the base’s shape, as long as the apex sits directly above the base’s centroid (a right pyramid).
This tool is useful for geometry study, architecture, and general volume estimation. For pyramids with non-rectangular bases, substitute the correct base area formula for that shape.
