What is Net Run Rate?
Net Run Rate (NRR) is the official method the International Cricket Council (ICC) and other cricket bodies use to separate teams that finish level on points in a league table. It measures how much faster a team scores its runs compared to how fast it lets the opposition score.
How it’s calculated
NRR = (runs scored ÷ overs faced) − (runs conceded ÷ overs bowled). Overs in cricket are written as overs.balls (for example 49.4 means 49 overs and 4 balls), so this calculator converts that notation into true decimal overs before dividing, exactly as the official method requires.
If a team is bowled out before facing its full allocation of overs, the full allotted overs (not the overs actually faced) are used in the official calculation — enter the overs value that applies to your specific match situation.
