What this calculator does
The Graduation Year Calculator estimates the calendar year a student will graduate from high school or college, based on their current grade level and the current school year.
How the calculation works
Each grade level is assumed to take one school year. The calculator counts how many grades remain until 12th grade (high school) or the 4th year of college, then adds that many years to the current school year’s end date. For example, a student starting 9th grade in the 2026-2027 school year is 4 grades away from graduating, placing graduation in 2030.
This is a general planning estimate. It assumes standard grade progression with no grade repetition, skipped grades, or program length changes, and actual dates depend on each school’s specific calendar and academic policies.
