🎯 TS Calculator (True Shooting Percentage)

Enter total points, field goal attempts, and free throw attempts to calculate true shooting percentage.

What this calculator does

True shooting percentage (TS%) measures a basketball player’s overall scoring efficiency, accounting for two-point shots, three-point shots, and free throws in a single number.

How the calculation works

The formula is TS% = Points / (2 x (FGA + 0.44 x FTA)). The 0.44 factor is a widely used approximation of the average number of free throw attempts that result from a shooting foul versus other types of fouls, so the denominator reflects a fair estimate of total ‘true’ shot attempts.

Because it folds in free throws and rewards three-point accuracy, TS% is generally considered a more complete efficiency measure than raw field goal percentage. A TS% above 60% is typically considered excellent at most levels of play. This calculator is for general statistics reference and educational use.
