Choosing a streaming bitrate
Recommended video bitrates scale with resolution and frame rate: more pixels and more frames per second both require more data to look clean. This tool starts from commonly published baseline bitrates for each resolution at 30fps, then applies a 1.5x multiplier for 60fps streams and a further boost for a ‘high’ quality target.
Your actual best setting also depends on your upload bandwidth and the platform’s own caps (for example, many platforms cap live bitrate around 6 Mbps for 1080p60), so treat this as a solid starting point to test and adjust.
