How recipe scaling works
Scaling a recipe is simple multiplication: divide the servings you want by the recipe’s original serving count to get a scale factor, then multiply every ingredient amount by that same factor.
How to use this calculator
Enter how many servings the original recipe makes, how many servings you actually need, and the amount of one ingredient (in whatever unit that recipe uses, such as cups, grams, or tablespoons). Repeat for each ingredient in your recipe using the same scale factor shown in the results.
A rounded 1/4-unit value is also shown since most kitchen measuring tools work in quarter increments. Note that scaling doesn’t always work perfectly for leavening agents, spices, or baking times — those often need small manual adjustments rather than a straight multiply.
