Raw Dog Food Calculator
Calculate how much raw food to feed your dog each day using the standard percent-of-body-weight method.
How raw feeding portions are calculated
A common starting guideline for raw feeding is to feed a dog between 2% and 3% of their ideal body weight per day for adult maintenance, adjusting up for very active dogs or puppies (who may need as much as 4-10% depending on age) and down for weight loss.
How this calculator works
Enter your dog’s ideal body weight and select an activity level, which sets the percentage used. The calculator then multiplies weight by that percentage to get a total daily amount, and splits it using the commonly recommended 80/10/10 ratio: about 80% muscle meat, 10% raw edible bone, and 10% organ meat (with half of that organ portion typically being liver).
Raw feeding requires attention to food safety and nutritional balance over time. This tool offers general planning guidance only; consult a veterinarian or veterinary nutritionist before starting or changing a raw diet, especially for puppies or dogs with health conditions.
