What this calculator does
This tool converts speed between meters per second (m/s), the SI unit of speed used in physics, and kilometers per hour (km/h), the everyday unit used for vehicle and travel speeds in most countries.
How the calculation works
There are 3,600 seconds in an hour and 1,000 meters in a kilometer, so multiplying a speed in m/s by 3.6 (3600/1000) converts it to km/h, and dividing a speed in km/h by 3.6 converts it back to m/s.
