The formula
This calculator multiplies your weekly laundry loads by the number of weeks tracked to get Total Loads, then applies your estimated loss rate (the percentage of loads that seem to lose a sock) to estimate Socks Lost = Total Loads × Loss Rate. It also projects that rate out to a full year for comparison.
