What lunar age means here
A lunar year is made up of 12 lunar (synodic) months, each averaging about 29.53 days, for a total of roughly 354.37 days, about 11 days shorter than a solar year of 365.25 days. Because a lunar year is shorter, your age in lunar years is always a bit higher than your normal age.
The formula
Total days lived is calculated from your birth date to today. Lunar age (years) = Total days lived ÷ 354.37. Lunar age (months) = Total days lived ÷ 29.53.
This is a fun, educational conversion of your exact age using the Moon’s cycle as the unit of measurement. It is a different concept from the traditional East Asian "counting age," which tracks birthdays against the lunar calendar’s New Year rather than converting the length of a year itself.
