What This Calculator Does
Most car leases charge a per-mile fee for any miles driven beyond the contracted allowance. This calculator uses your current driving pace to project whether you’ll exceed that allowance by the end of the lease, and roughly what it would cost if your pace continues.
The Method
Your monthly driving pace is calculated as miles driven so far divided by months elapsed. That pace is then projected across the full lease term to estimate total miles driven, which is compared against the total allowed miles (annual allowance × lease term in years). Any projected shortfall becomes excess miles, multiplied by your contract’s per-mile overage rate.
This is a projection, not a guarantee — your actual driving pace may change, and the final bill depends on the odometer reading at lease-end and your leasing company’s exact terms. Use this as an early warning to adjust your driving or negotiate a mileage add-on before the lease ends, since add-on miles purchased upfront are usually cheaper than paying overage fees at turn-in.
