What is sell-through rate?

Sell-through rate (STR) is a retail metric showing what percentage of inventory received from a supplier has actually been sold to customers over a given period.

The formula

Sell-Through Rate = (Units Sold / Units Received) × 100. A high sell-through rate suggests strong demand and efficient inventory turnover, while a low rate can indicate overstocking or weak demand for that product.

This calculator is for general retail and inventory-planning education.
