How Hot Tub Running Costs Are Calculated
A hot tub’s electricity cost comes mainly from two components: the heater (which cycles on to maintain water temperature) and the circulation pump (which typically runs several hours a day for filtering).
This calculator converts each component’s watt-hours to kilowatt-hours, multiplies by your electricity rate, and adds them together for a daily total, which is then scaled to monthly and yearly figures.
Actual costs vary with insulation quality, ambient temperature, cover use, and set point, so treat this as a general planning estimate rather than an exact bill prediction.
