How density conversion works
Density is mass divided by volume, and this calculator converts a density value between the units most often used in science, engineering, cooking, and materials work. It converts your input to kilograms per cubic meter as a common base, then converts that to your chosen output unit.
Standard conversion factors are used: 1 g/cm³ = 1,000 kg/m³, 1 lb/ft³ = 16.01846337 kg/m³, and 1 lb/gal (US) = 119.8264273 kg/m³. These are the accepted physical constants for mass and volume unit relationships.
