How calories burned are estimated

This calculator uses the MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) method, the standard approach exercise scientists use to compare the energy cost of different activities. Each activity is assigned a MET value representing how many times more energy it uses compared to sitting still. The formula is: Calories = MET × body weight (kg) × duration (hours).

How to use it

Enter your body weight, choose the activity that best matches what you did (or its closest intensity level), and enter how long you were active. The calculator instantly estimates total calories burned, plus your burn rate per minute and per hour.

MET-based estimates are averages drawn from research on typical adults and can vary with fitness level, terrain, effort, and individual metabolism. This tool is for general fitness planning and educational purposes, not a substitute for a measured fitness assessment.
