Average Triathlon Finishing Time Calculator
Estimate your total triathlon finish time by combining your swim, bike, and run paces with realistic transition times.
What this calculator does
It estimates your total triathlon finish time by adding up expected time for each leg of the race — swim, bike, and run — plus the two transitions between them (commonly called T1 and T2).
The formula
Each leg is calculated separately: Swim Time = (Swim Distance ÷ 100m) × Pace per 100m, Bike Time = Bike Distance ÷ Average Speed, and Run Time = Run Distance × Pace per Kilometer. These are added together with your estimated combined transition time to get the total. Standard race distances (sprint, Olympic, half/70.3, and full/Ironman) are built in so you just pick your event.
Real race times are also affected by course terrain, water conditions, drafting rules, weather, and fatigue carried between legs (particularly the bike-to-run transition), so treat this as a planning estimate rather than a guaranteed prediction.
