What is CPS?
CPS stands for cycles per second, the original name for the unit we now call the hertz (Hz). One cycle per second is defined as exactly one hertz, so converting between CPS and Hz is a 1:1 relationship — the real value of this tool is turning that number into the other frequency units people actually need.
How the conversion works
- Hertz (Hz): equal to the CPS value you entered.
- Kilohertz / Megahertz: Hz divided by 1,000 or 1,000,000.
- RPM: Hz multiplied by 60, since one revolution per second equals 60 revolutions per minute.
- Period: the time for one full cycle, calculated as 1 divided by the frequency in Hz.
