How the conversion works
All conversions go through milliliters as a common base, using standard US customary volume equivalents: 1 teaspoon = 4.93 ml, 1 tablespoon = 14.79 ml (3 teaspoons), 1 cup = 236.59 ml (16 tablespoons), and 1 fluid ounce = 29.57 ml. Your amount is first converted to milliliters, then converted into the target unit.
Note: This calculator uses US customary measurements. Some countries (like Australia and the UK) define a tablespoon slightly differently, which can matter in precise baking.
