What this calculator does

A ‘year’ on any planet is simply the time it takes that planet to complete one orbit around the Sun. Because each planet orbits at a different speed, your age in ‘planet years’ is different everywhere in the solar system.

How the calculation works

The calculator divides your age in Earth years by each planet’s orbital period, expressed in Earth years (for example, Mercury completes an orbit in about 0.24 Earth years, while Neptune takes about 164.8 Earth years). A shorter orbital period means you’d have had many more birthdays; a longer one means far fewer.

This is a fun, educational way to visualize how vastly orbital periods differ across the solar system — it does not account for a planet’s rotation (day length), only its year length.
