Time to Decimal Calculator

Convert a time duration into decimal hours, the format most timesheets and payroll systems use.

Why decimal time matters

Most payroll and timesheet systems record hours worked in decimal form (like 7.75 hours) rather than clock format (7 hours 45 minutes), since decimal values are easier to multiply by an hourly rate.

How this calculator works

Enter a duration in hours, minutes, and seconds. The calculator converts the minutes and seconds into fractional hours (dividing minutes by 60 and seconds by 3,600) and adds them to the whole hours to produce the decimal hour total, along with the equivalent decimal minutes and total seconds.

This is a standard conversion used for payroll, billing, and time tracking purposes.
