How the timeline works

This calculator counts the number of days and hours since the quit date you enter, then compares that elapsed time to commonly cited general recovery milestones after quitting smoking, such as carbon monoxide levels normalizing within about 12 hours, improved circulation within about 2 weeks, and reduced heart disease risk after about a year.

Why milestones vary

These milestones are widely referenced general patterns, not guarantees; actual recovery speed and health benefits vary based on how long and how much a person smoked, overall health, and other individual factors.

This tool is for general motivation and educational purposes only and does not provide medical advice. If you’re quitting smoking or managing withdrawal symptoms, consider speaking with a healthcare provider or a smoking cessation program for personalized support.
