Why shoe sizes differ between countries
The US, UK, and EU each use their own numbering systems for shoe sizes, and men’s and women’s scales are offset from each other too, so the same physical foot length gets a different number depending on the chart used.
How this calculator works
This calculator uses standard size chart offsets. For men’s sizing: UK Size = US Size − 1, and EU Size = US Size + 33. For women’s sizing: UK Size = US Size − 2.5, and EU Size = (1.5 × US Size) + 27. Enter your size, its system, and the category, and the calculator converts it to the other two systems.
These offsets reflect the size charts used by most major footwear brands, but exact fit can still vary between brands and shoe styles (running shoes, dress shoes, boots), since sizing isn’t perfectly standardized across the industry.
