What is PVGO?

The Present Value of Growth Opportunities (PVGO) is the portion of a stock’s current price attributable to expected future growth, rather than its existing earnings power alone.

The formula

PVGO = Stock Price − (EPS / Required Rate of Return). The term EPS/r represents the “no-growth” value of the stock — what it would be worth if earnings never grew. Whatever price remains above that is attributed to growth expectations.
