What are outs and poker odds?

An ‘out’ is any remaining card in the deck that would improve your hand into a likely winner (for example, one of the 9 remaining cards of your suit when drawing to a flush). This calculator turns your outs into an exact probability of hitting your draw.

The formula

For a single upcoming card, the probability is simply Outs / Unseen Cards. For two upcoming cards (like needing to hit on either the turn or the river), the calculator uses the exact combinatorial method: it computes the probability of missing on both cards and subtracts that from 100%, rather than just adding percentages, which is a common approximation.

The result also shows the well-known ‘Rule of 2 and 4’ shortcut (outs × 2 for one card, outs × 4 for two cards) that many players use for quick mental estimates at the table. This tool is for strategy education and entertainment purposes only.
