Net Carbs Calculator
Work out the net carbs in a food or meal by subtracting fiber and sugar alcohols from total carbohydrates, the standard method used on low-carb and keto diets.
What are net carbs?
“Net carbs” is a popular way of estimating the carbohydrates in food that actually impact blood sugar, by subtracting components that are minimally digested, such as fiber and certain sugar alcohols.
How it’s calculated
This calculator uses the common formula: Net Carbs = Total Carbohydrates – Fiber – (Sugar Alcohols / 2), since many sugar alcohols are only partially absorbed. It also shows the simpler method some labels and apps use, which subtracts the full sugar alcohol amount.
Net carbs is a popular tracking convention rather than an official nutrition label term, and its accuracy can vary by the type of sugar alcohol used. This tool is for general educational and diet-tracking purposes only.
