What this calculator does
This tool converts a number of minutes into hours, showing both a decimal hour value (useful for timesheets and spreadsheets) and a whole-hours-plus-remaining-minutes breakdown (useful for everyday scheduling).
How the calculation works
Since there are 60 minutes in an hour, dividing the total minutes by 60 gives the decimal number of hours. The whole number of hours is found by rounding down that division, and the remaining minutes are whatever is left over after subtracting those whole hours.
