What this calculator does

This tool estimates the price of professional lawn mowing service by scaling a per-1,000-square-foot rate to your actual lawn size, then multiplying by how often the lawn gets mowed. Most lawn care companies price by area because mowing time (and therefore labor cost) scales roughly with square footage, not with a flat per-lawn fee.

How the estimate is calculated

The calculator divides your lawn size by 1,000 and multiplies by your chosen rate per 1,000 square feet to get a per-visit price, applying a common $25 minimum-visit charge that most services use for very small lawns. It then multiplies that per-visit price by your visits per month to estimate monthly spending, and by the total number of visits across your mowing season for a seasonal total.

Actual local pricing varies by region, lawn terrain, edging and trimming add-ons, and whether clippings are bagged. Use this calculator as a general planning and budgeting estimate rather than an exact quote from any specific provider.
