🔢 Quantity Converter
Convert a quantity between everyday counting units like pieces, pairs, dozens, scores, grosses, and reams.
What this calculator does
Many everyday goods — eggs, pencils, paper, produce — are bought and sold in traditional counting units rather than single pieces. This tool converts a quantity from one counting unit into another so you can quickly work out totals for shopping, inventory, or recipes.
How the conversion works
Every counting unit is first converted to a common base of individual pieces, then divided by the target unit’s piece count. For example, a dozen equals 12 pieces, a score equals 20 pieces, a gross equals 144 pieces (12 dozen), and a ream equals 500 sheets. Multiplying your amount by the source unit’s piece count and dividing by the destination unit’s piece count gives the converted quantity.
- Pair / couple: 2 pieces
- Dozen: 12 pieces
- Baker’s dozen: 13 pieces
- Score: 20 pieces
- Gross: 144 pieces
