How the calculation works
Print size in inches is simply the pixel dimension divided by the target resolution in dots per inch (DPI): width in inches = pixel width ÷ DPI, and the same for height. A common professional standard is 300 DPI for sharp close-up prints, while 150-200 DPI is usually acceptable for posters and images viewed from further away. The result is also converted to centimeters by multiplying inches by 2.54.
