📈 P-Hat Calculator

Calculate p-hat, the sample proportion, from your number of successes and total sample size.

What is p-hat?

P-hat (p̂) is the sample proportion — the fraction of a sample that has a certain characteristic. It is used to estimate an unknown population proportion p based on observed sample data.

How it’s calculated

p̂ = x / n, where x is the number of successes (or occurrences) observed and n is the total sample size. The standard error of p̂ is √(p̂(1−p̂)/n), which is used when building confidence intervals or performing hypothesis tests for a proportion.
