Matched Betting Calculator
Work out the correct lay stake to place at a betting exchange to lock in a matched bet, and see your qualifying profit or loss either way.
What matched betting is
Matched betting is a technique where you place a “back” bet at a bookmaker (betting for an outcome) and a matching “lay” bet at a betting exchange (betting against that same outcome), using the exchange’s odds to cover your position. The goal is to lock in a near-identical result regardless of which side wins, often used to extract value from free bet or bonus offers.
How the lay stake is calculated
For a normal qualifying bet, the lay stake is calculated as your back stake times your back odds, divided by the lay odds minus the exchange’s commission rate (expressed as a decimal). For a free bet, only the potential winnings (not the stake) are backed, so the formula uses the back odds minus one instead of the full back odds. The calculator also computes your liability at the exchange and the resulting profit or loss on both outcomes.
