🔡 Sentence Case Converter
Pick the characters of a short piece of text to see it converted into sentence case, with the first letter of each sentence capitalized.
What this calculator does
Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence (and leaves the rest lowercase), the same style used in normal written prose — unlike Title Case, which capitalizes every major word.
How it works
Build a short piece of text one character at a time using the dropdowns below. The converter reads through the text and capitalizes the first letter, and the first letter after any period, exclamation point, or question mark, while lowercasing all other letters.
This character-by-character demo is limited to a short phrase for this simple tool, but it applies the exact same sentence-boundary logic used by full sentence-case text converters.
