What is EPS growth?

Earnings Per Share (EPS) growth measures how much a company’s per-share profit has increased or decreased compared to a prior period, which investors often use as a signal of a company’s improving or declining profitability.

The formula

EPS Growth Rate (%) = ((Current EPS − Prior EPS) / |Prior EPS|) × 100. Using the absolute value of the prior EPS in the denominator keeps the sign of the result meaningful even when prior EPS was negative.

This calculator is for general financial education and analysis practice, not investment advice. EPS can be affected by one-time items and share buybacks, so it’s often useful to look at multiple periods and metrics together.
