The method it uses
Canine gestation typically lasts 58 to 68 days from mating, with 63 days from the fertile mating window commonly used as the average. This calculator subtracts elapsed days from that average, and also reports weeks pregnant and percent of pregnancy complete.
Because ovulation timing and mating dates can vary, actual whelping dates commonly fall within a week of the estimate. This tool is for general planning purposes; consult a veterinarian for confirmed pregnancy staging, especially as the due date approaches.
