What this calculator does

The Diaper Calculator helps parents and caregivers estimate how many diapers to buy or budget for, based on how many changes happen per day and how far ahead you want to plan — whether that’s a week of daycare, a month’s supply, or a rough total until potty training.

How the estimate works

The calculator multiplies your daily changes by the number of days in your planning window (using an average of 30.4 days per month). It also projects forward to an expected potty-training age you set, giving a rough total diaper count from now until then.

  • Newborns typically go through 8-12 changes a day.
  • Older infants and toddlers often need 6-8 changes a day.
  • Every baby is different, so treat these as planning estimates, not guarantees.

This tool is for general household planning purposes only and does not account for growth spurts, illness, or size changes that may affect diaper usage.
