What this calculator does

This tool calculates the concrete volume needed to pour one or more columns, either round (cylindrical) or square/rectangular, based on their cross-section dimensions and height.

The formula

For round columns, area = π × radius². For square or rectangular columns, area = width × depth. Volume = area × height, multiplied by the number of columns, then converted to cubic yards.

Bag estimates assume a 60 lb bag yields about 0.45 cubic feet of concrete, a common manufacturer figure. Always add extra material for form leakage and site loss.
