What this calculator does
Chicken eggs take a standard 21 days to hatch under proper incubation conditions. This calculator tracks where your batch is in that cycle and flags the key milestone: lockdown.
How the math works
Enter how many days have passed since you set the eggs in the incubator. The calculator subtracts that from the standard 21-day incubation period to show days remaining until expected hatch, and converts elapsed days into a percent-complete figure. It also flags days until ‘lockdown,’ the point around day 18 when egg turning stops and humidity is increased to prepare for hatching.
Hatch timing can vary by a day or so depending on incubator temperature, humidity, and egg storage before setting, so treat the hatch date as an estimate and keep monitoring your incubator’s conditions. This tool is for general poultry-keeping and educational purposes.
