What this calculator does
This Black Friday calculator helps you quickly see the real cost and real savings on a sale item once a discount percentage, quantity, and any local sales tax are applied.
How it’s calculated
The sale price per item is the original price multiplied by (1 minus the discount as a decimal). This is multiplied by the quantity to get a subtotal, sales tax is applied to that subtotal, and the two are added for your final total. Total savings is simply the difference between the original and sale price, multiplied by quantity.
- Discounts are capped between 0% and 100% to keep results realistic.
- Enter 0 for sales tax if your area or purchase is tax-free.
