How biweekly mortgage payments work
Paying half your monthly mortgage payment every two weeks results in 26 half-payments per year, the equivalent of 13 full monthly payments instead of 12. That extra payment each year can shorten your loan term and reduce total interest paid.
How this calculator works
Enter your loan amount, interest rate, and term. The calculator first computes your standard monthly payment, then simulates a biweekly payment schedule (half the monthly payment every two weeks) to estimate your new payoff time and the interest you could save compared to the standard schedule.
This is a general estimate. Not all lenders offer true biweekly payment processing, so confirm how extra payments are applied with your loan servicer.
