What this calculator does
The Cycle Time Calculator finds how long it takes, on average, to produce one unit, based on your total available production time and the number of units produced.
How the calculation works
Cycle time is calculated using the standard Lean manufacturing formula: total production time divided by the number of units produced in that time. The result is then inverted to show throughput, meaning how many units are produced per hour or per minute at that pace.
This tool is for general process planning and educational purposes. In real operations, cycle time can vary between individual units, so this calculator gives an average rate rather than a guaranteed per-unit time.
