What is the Cobb-Douglas production function?

The Cobb-Douglas function is a widely used economic model describing how labor and capital combine to produce total output. It’s expressed as Y = A × L^α × K^β, where A is total factor productivity (technology/efficiency), L is labor, and K is capital.

How this calculator works

Enter your productivity factor, labor input, capital input, and the output elasticities for labor (α) and capital (β), which represent how responsive output is to a 1% change in each input. If α + β equals 1, the function has constant returns to scale; above 1 is increasing returns, and below 1 is decreasing returns.

This calculator is for general economics education and modeling purposes.
