What this calculator does

This tool estimates how many bags of cement you need to produce a given volume of concrete, based on a standard mix ratio of cement to sand to gravel by volume.

The formula

The total mix parts (cement + sand + gravel) divide the total concrete volume to find cement’s share, which is then converted to weight using cement’s density (about 94 lb per cubic foot) and divided by your bag size (commonly 94 lb, or about 42.6 kg, per bag in the US).

Actual yield varies with aggregate size, moisture, and compaction. This is a planning estimate — always buy a few extra bags to account for waste and mixing loss.
